Musicians in Los Angeles
Guitar Center, Fender, and MusiCares are providing financial assistance to impacted L.A.-based musicians and music industry professionals.
• Guitar Center: Through its Guitar Center Music Foundation, the retailer is accepting submissions for one-time grants to replace gear and/or instruments. The initiative is currently open to L.A.-based musicians and music programs – including in-school or after-school music classes, as well as community and music therapy programs. Proof of loss or address is one of the key requirements. Submissions are open until Feb. 28 via the official Guitar Center Music Foundation website.
• Fender: The company states that it will “ respond and help replenish requests to the best of our abilities”. Find more information and their submission form here.
• MusiCares: to be eligible for support, musicians and music professionals need to have worked in the music industry “in any capacity” for at least three years or be credited on six commercially released recordings. Professionals are encouraged to reach out to musicaresrelief@musicares.org to request support.

“We continue to have service impacts to some bus and rail lines due to wildfires and wind. We've also suspended fares through Friday, Jan. 10. Shuttle buses replace trains in both directions on the A Line between Southwest Museum and Fillmore stations due to wind damage to overhead wires. ALLOW EXTRA TIME. This work will continue into Friday. Bus Lines 134 and 602 are canceled due to the Palisades Fire. There are detours on Bus Lines 180, 217, 296, 660 & 662. Metro Micro service north of Washington and Sierra Madre Blvd. and west of 210 freeway in Pasadena and Altadena is canceled.”
